Facebook vs. Twitter

Twitter is challenging Facebook in every way. Twitter is almost winning, Facebook is becoming something like My Space. Probably already is. Based on a source called digitalsurgeons, there are 88% of people are aware of Facebook and 87%  are aware of Twitter. Currently, 30% people are on Facebook using mobile and 37% for Twitter users. 70% of Facebook users are located outside of United State of America and 60% people outside America use Twitter.

Facebook somehow, trying to get back the users' attention by doing a lot of changing and attempting to imitate Twitter. Up to the point that it annoys the users. Instead of trying to keep the users, they might have scared them away.

One of the reasons that people stay on Facebook is that, like Jenna Wortham said, "One of Facebook's selling point is that it builds closer ties among friends and colleagues. But some who steer clear of the site say it can have the opposite effect of making them feel more, not less, alienated,". People don't want to be said being outdated so the joined and stayed on Facebook. They have been longer on Facebook, and getting used to Twitter is harder than leaving Facebook, so the decision is made to stick to Facebook however annoying it become. However, some people just cannot stand Facebook and feels that Twitter is much cooler and less ridiculous to use. So, they switched to Twitter.

Despite that, based on Ellis Hamburger, said that Twitter is more suitable for artists and known people. This is because the frequent posts are to inform their activities and whereabouts as an artist, unlike ordinary people that other people do not really care.

All in all, Twitter and Facebook are in a battlefield where they require not weapons but the users attention to make their graph runs up the hill and not downwards.
